Where were you born and what has influenced you most there?

I was born in Oberhausen, in the middle of the Ruhr area - the open and honest way of dealing with each other has influenced me here.

Where do you currently live and what led you there?

Now I live even deeper in the Ruhrpott. I simply like it here, but you can really only feel that way if you were born here and understand the mentality. Thanks to my work I travel a lot and at home I can simply be able to relax.

What is your biggest passion and what pushes you there?

My biggest passion is definitely skateboarding. I spent half of my life with it sa far and that will not change anymore. Shortly after comes photography. Both have influenced and affected me very much in my life.

What do you enjoy doing with your free time when you are not pursuing your biggest passion?

Mainly it is simply skateboarding and photography or refers to it. I try to stay creative by designing collages or zines from my photos. And when I have some free time I try to go skateboarding as often as possible.

Since when do you skate/ photograph and what inspired you to do so?

I have been skating for 15 years now. Skateboarding is just something special. It's difficult to express what I feel to people who have no connection to it. It means freedom and not having to follow certain rules - skateboarding also brought me to photography. Each day I was out with a bunch of guys and we always went to other cities to skate new spots.  At some point the time came that I wanted to capture these moments and took a camera with me. One thing led to another.

What is your favourite trick / favourite motive and why?

BS Flip and interesting people.

What is your favorite spot and what makes it special?

I love skating in Barcelona at the "Parallel". The surface is perfect, there are all kinds of obstacles and the atmosphere is always very pleasant despite the many skaters or maybe just because of them.
